We are hiring a
Senior R&D Engineer to support
design controls, test method development, and product validation in a regulated medical device environment. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong expertise in
FDA quality systems, ISO 13485 compliance, and mechanical design using SolidWorks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design control activities, including requirements development, risk documentation (DFMEA), and validation
- Develop and validate test methods and create supporting documentation (protocols, reports, spec maps)
- Design fixtures and tooling using SolidWorks to support testing and product development
- Support product transfers and manufacturing changes between suppliers
- Ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all projects
- Apply change management processes (DCA, SCIA, SCAR, PLCP)
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for design and process issues
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and suppliers
- Manage multiple projects using strong project management and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in design controls and regulated environments (FDA, ISO 13485)
- Proven experience in test method development, verification, and validation
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Minitab
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, risk management, and compliance
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Mechanical design experience and new product development (NPD) background
- Experience with SAP, Windchill, or Human Factors/Usability
- Demonstrated success leading product or process improvement projects
