We are seeking a Senior Software Developer / Engineer with deep expertise in Java and Kotlin to help design, build, and support high-performing enterprise applications that power critical business initiatives.
This role is ideal for a highly independent engineer who thrives in complex environments and can take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, from idea conception and technical design through deployment and production support. The successful candidate will combine strong software engineering fundamentals, architectural expertise, and operational excellence to deliver scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions.
Job Description
As a Senior Software Developer / Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise-grade applications and services using Java and Kotlin. You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to transform requirements into robust technical solutions while ensuring scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade applications using Java and Kotlin.
  • Translate business ideas and problem statements into complete technical solutions.
  • Define application architecture and contribute to system design decisions.
  • Develop and support distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and integration solutions.
  • Build and optimize scalable backend services with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Design and implement database schemas, queries, and performance improvements using PostgreSQL.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
  • Monitor application health through logging, alerting, and observability tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Take ownership of application performance, operational stability, and long-term maintainability.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with both Java and Kotlin.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise applications.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, concurrency, APIs, and backend development best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture and system design principles.
  • Experience with distributed systems, microservices, scalability, resiliency, security, and performance optimization.
  • Advanced experience with PostgreSQL, including:
    • Relational data modeling
    • Schema design
    • SQL development
    • Indexing and query optimization
    • Transaction management
    • Database performance tuning
  • Ability to independently translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience owning the full software development lifecycle, including:
    • Requirements analysis
    • Solution design
    • Architecture
    • Development
    • Testing
    • Deployment
    • Production support
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, deployment processes, and release management.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining applications in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and high-availability practices.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and infrastructure issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal technical oversight.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing applications or automation solutions using Python.
  • Experience using Python for scripting, data processing, integrations, tooling, or backend services.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud-native development practices and DevOps principles.
  • Experience working within large-scale retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing technology environments.
  • Exposure to highly scalable, customer-facing platforms supporting large transaction volumes.
