Senior Network Engineer - OSPF/Palo Alto Firewalls

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to step into a high-impact role focused on resolving long-standing OSPF routing issues and enabling a major Palo Alto firewall deployment. This is a fully onsite position with a fast interview process and strong potential for contract extension.

Overview:
The team is backfilling a position that has been open for several months and urgently needs an Engineer with deep OSPF expertise. Legacy routing issues have accumulated over several years and are now blocking a large-scale firewall rollout. Hundreds of devices are staged and ready, but deployment cannot proceed until routing is stabilized. In this role, you will lead engineering efforts, provide knowledge transfer, and build the project plan that moves the environment forward. Due to limited bandwidth on the existing team, this role will function as the primary technical driver for the initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and resolve complex OSPF routing issues that are preventing firewall deployment
* Lead engineering efforts and serve as the primary technical resource for the project
* Develop a clear project plan to advance the Palo Alto rollout
* Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to the internal team
* Support routine operational networking work as needed
* Contribute to follow-on ZeroTrust initiatives once routing and firewall deployment are stabilized

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
* Strong experience with Palo Alto firewalls
* Deep expertise with OSPF routing in complex environments
* Ability to lead technical efforts with minimal oversight
* Comfortable working fully onsite, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m

Key Projects & Initiatives:
* Large-scale Palo Alto firewall deployment across multiple sites
* Significant capital investment already made in hardware awaiting deployment
* Resolution of OSPF routing issues that currently block rollout
* ZeroTrust and broader security modernization efforts following stabilization

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
