Senior Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Westlake, TX that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.

Responsibilities:
* Build, implement, and maintain Java-based applications using modern Java (11-21+)
* Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and asynchronous processing solutions
* Optimize performance, troubleshoot defects, and resolve production issues
* Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams to deliver features
* Work on CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments
* Write unit, integration, and functional tests
* Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and security standards
* Provide on-call or production support as required

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
* 7-10+ years of professional software development experience
* Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Strong proficiency in Java 11+ (Java 17+ preferred)
* Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security
* Experience deploying applications to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
* Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
* Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
* Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or JMS
* Understanding of OWASP secure coding practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
