Software Design Engineer

Location: REDMOND, Washington (Onsite)

Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 Hourly

Role Overview

The main function of a Software Engineer is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs. This role involves full-stack software development, application maintenance, and automation projects. The position will support web-based tools across multiple initiatives as business needs arise, with ongoing support until ownership can be transitioned to long-term teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, prototype, and maintain web-based applications, automation solutions, and internal tools.
• Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.
• Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions.
• Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
• Implement system software and customize to client requirements.
• Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.
• Code new programs and create test data for testing.
• Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing.
• Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
• Provide quality assurance reviews and perform post-implementation validation of software.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required.

Experience: 8-10 years of experience in software engineering is required. This includes experience with large-scale systems software design and development, as well as in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems. Candidates must be able to work onsite five days per week.

Technical Skills: A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design is necessary. Experience in programming with a focus on problem diagnosis and resolution is required. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical knowledge is a plus.
