Job Title: Epic Build Analyst – Professional Billing (PB) Claims & Remittance
Location - Remote
Principal Duties
Epic analyst certified in PB Claims and Remittance with extensive experience building payors and plans in Epic. The analyst will cover support duties including upgrades, testing, ticket resolution, and system maintenance. The role requires coordination with FTEs, operations teams, and other application teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Under varying levels of direction and expertise, the analyst is responsible for the ongoing assessment, design, development, and implementation of corporate-wide revenue cycle systems.
The analyst must:
· Possess knowledge of revenue cycle workflows and apply that expertise to their work.
· Collect and transform large quantities of information into meaningful business requirements.
· Develop and modify requirements documentation for the design and implementation of revenue cycle information systems.
· Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, distinguish user needs from actual business needs, and partner with business users, project managers, programmers, consultants, and IT leadership.
· Assist in optimizing scope, benefits, and risks of projects and managing stakeholder expectations.
General Tasks and Responsibilities
· Analyze and document business requirements and processes.
· Communicate requirements to technical personnel through conceptual data models, process models, flowcharts, and technical specifications.
· Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors to assess business needs.
· Create business, functional, and technical requirements documentation.
· Convert gathered information into detailed specifications including:
o Data sources
o Data and user types
o Interface components and navigation needs
o Reporting needs
o Administrative system needs
· Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues, and non-functional requirements.
· Identify risks, concerns, and ambiguities during requirements gathering and assist in developing solutions.
· Partner with project managers to complete documentation according to project schedules.
· Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups.
· Ensure development teams account for defined requirements in coordination with QA teams.
· Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
· Document changes through standard change control processes.
· Document test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user guides, and training materials.
· Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and deployments.
· Perform end-user and application support functions including problem resolution.
· Provide systems and application training.
· Develop and execute project presentations.
· Participate in special projects as required.
· Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts and review work products.
· Participate in departmental training initiatives.
· Identify process improvement opportunities and propose changes.
· Provide supervision and guidance to junior analysts and consultants.
· Participate in interviewing junior analysts and consultants.
· Work beyond regularly scheduled hours when required.
· Be able to report onsite within 48 hours when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications/Licenses:
Specialty certifications issued by national programs, states, professional societies, or academic institutions in related areas may be credited toward required work experience for up to one year.
Education
· Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of relevant experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements;
OR
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of relevant experience as described above;
OR
· A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience
· 2 years’ experience with Epic EMR and/or other revenue cycle applications and/or healthcare revenue cycle background strongly preferred.
· Willing to train the selected candidate.
