Role - Epic Build Analyst (Mychart / Revenue Cycle)

Location –Remote -  New York NY

Principal Duties

• Epic Analyst certified in MyChart, with experience in Telehealth, Hello World, and EpicCare Link.
• The Analyst must be able to handle individual optimization projects as needed, as well as provide ongoing support.
• Must be self-sufficient with minimal oversight.
• Responsibilities include covering support duties, assisting with upgrades, testing, ticket resolution, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with FTEs and operations, along with coordination from other applications as well.

Minimum Qualifications

Under varying levels of direction and expertise, the Analyst is responsible for the ongoing assessment, design, development, and implementation of corporate-wide revenue cycle systems.

The Analyst should:

• Have knowledge of revenue cycle workflows and use that expertise to inform their work.
• Collect and transform large quantities of information into meaningful business requirements.
• Develop and modify requirements documentation for the design and implementation of revenue cycle information systems.
• Critically evaluate information from various sources.
• Distinguish user needs from actual business needs.
• Partner with business users, project managers, programmers, consultants, and IT leadership to optimize the scope, benefits, and risks of actual and proposed projects.
• Assist in managing stakeholder expectations.

General Tasks and Responsibilities

• Analyze and document business requirements and processes.
• Communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data models, process models, flowcharts, and technical specifications.
• Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors to assess business needs.
• Create business, functional, and technical requirements documents in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
• Convert gathered information into detailed specifications including data sources, data and user types, interface components, interface navigation needs, reporting needs, and administrative system needs.
• Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues, and other non-functional requirements.
• Provide the project management team with identified risks, concerns, and ambiguities discovered during requirements gathering and assist in developing solutions.
• Partner with project managers to complete requirements documentation in accordance with project schedules.
• Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups; oversee and execute follow-up activities.
• Ensure the software development team accounts for all defined requirements in coordination with the quality assurance team. Ensure all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.
• Document changes to baseline requirements through the standard change control process.
• Document software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines, and other materials.
• Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments in coordination with other team leaders.
• Perform end-user and application support functions including problem-solving and resolution of application defects. Provide systems and application training.
• Develop and execute project presentations.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Provide training to and serve as a mentor for Junior Business Analysts, Level I Analysts, and/or other appropriate project team members. Manage and evaluate work products for assigned team members.
• Participate in the development of departmental training initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, provide analysis, propose changes, and communicate strategies.
• Provide supervision and guidance to Junior Business Analysts, Level I Business Analysts, consultants, and/or other appropriate project team members.
• Interview Junior Business Analysts, Level I Business Analysts, consultants, and/or other appropriate project team members.
• Due to the responsibilities of this position, the selected candidate will be required to work beyond regularly scheduled hours.
• This role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on-site.
• The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform required work within 48 hours.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications / NYS Licenses

• Specialty certification(s) issued by a nationally recognized commercially available program, state, professional society, academic, or technical institution in the areas listed above may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one year.

Educational Requirements

• A Master’s Degree or advanced degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis, or related methods in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics, or related area;
  OR one year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function;
• A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience as described above;
• A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.

Years of Experience

• Two (2) years of experience with Epic EMR and/or other revenue cycle applications, and/or healthcare revenue cycle background strongly preferred. However, the selected candidate may be trained.
