Job Title: IT Administrator
Purpose
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's information technology networks, systems, and infrastructure. This role provides hands on technical support to employees, assists with system administration, and ensures reliable operation of hardware, software, and communication tools across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an internal point of contact for network related issues, including troubleshooting for remote locations.
- Act as a helpdesk technician, responding to and resolving incoming technical support requests.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems across desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to resolve escalated issues or support needs.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain PCs, laptops, and related equipment.
- Provide support for the company's phone systems.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including account creation, access management, and equipment setup or retrieval.
Nature and Scope
This role requires strong analytical thinking and the ability to understand and troubleshoot issues based on user descriptions. Success depends on effective prioritization, organization, and the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels and with outside vendors. A calm, patient demeanor and clear communication skills are essential.
The position involves frequent computer-based work, including sitting for long periods, with occasional physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs., and performing basic equipment setup or maintenance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-5 years of experience in IT support or a related technical role.
- General understanding of networking concepts.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft hardware and software platforms.
- MCSE certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support a diverse user base.
- Excellent organizational abilities and capable of managing multiple priorities.
