Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Banking Operations Leader to head Global FX Infrastructure and Back Office Operations, with oversight across Foreign Exchange (FX) Operations, FX Prime Brokerage, Payments, and Money Markets. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, technology modernization, risk governance, and scalable infrastructure within a high-volume global trading environment.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in end-to-end FX operations, operational transformation, settlement infrastructure, and regulatory governance while leading global teams and partnering closely with Front Office, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Product organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Global FX Operations Leadership

  • Lead and manage global FX Back Office Operations, Infrastructure, FX Prime Brokerage, Payments, and Money Market Operations teams.
  • Drive operational efficiency, scalability, and process optimization across the FX trade lifecycle.
  • Establish and execute strategic initiatives to improve Straight Through Processing (STP) rates and reduce operational risk.
  • Ensure effective oversight of trade confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, investigations, and exception management.

Infrastructure & Technology Modernization

  • Lead modernization and transformation initiatives across FX operational platforms and infrastructure.
  • Oversee implementation, enhancement, and governance of key industry platforms including CLS, OPICS, and related FX processing systems.
  • Partner with Technology teams to deliver automation, workflow improvements, and operational resiliency programs.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives focused on scalability, efficiency, and control enhancement.

Risk, Controls & Governance

  • Maintain strong operational risk and control frameworks across FX Operations and Infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards.
  • Lead audit, regulatory examination, and control remediation activities.
  • Develop and strengthen operational governance models supporting business growth and risk mitigation.

Payments & Liquidity Management

  • Oversee FX settlement processes, liquidity management, and payment infrastructure.
  • Ensure effective management of FX wires, payment flows, settlement risk, and operational controls.
  • Partner with Treasury, Risk, and Front Office stakeholders to optimize funding and settlement activities.
  • Drive continuous improvements in payment processing efficiency and resiliency.

Training & Organizational Leadership

  • Lead global teams across multiple regions and functions.
  • Establish training programs and operational standards for FX Operations, FX Wires, Infrastructure, and Governance teams.
  • Mentor and develop leadership talent within the organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Trading, Sales, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Treasury, and Finance teams.
  • Serve as a key operational leader supporting strategic business initiatives and organizational objectives.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on operational performance, risk metrics, and transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Banking Operations, Financial Markets Operations, or Capital Markets Operations.
  • Deep expertise in Global Foreign Exchange (FX) Operations and end-to-end operational transformation.
  • Strong understanding of FX settlement, payments, liquidity management, and market infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience with CLS, OPICS, FX Prime Brokerage Operations, Payments, and Money Market Operations.
  • Proven track record leading large global teams within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of operational risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, and control frameworks.
  • Experience driving technology modernization and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
