Title: Mechanical Engineering Intern

Position Overview: Bollinger is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Mechanical Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site summer internship at our Metairie, LA facility. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Ocean Engineering who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional, real-world environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Engineering department by conducting research and preparing technical documentation.
- Perform general office tasks with high attention to detail, including organizing reports and maintaining engineering records.
- Develop and review system diagrams to ensure compliance with vessel specifications and regulatory standards.
- Conduct basic engineering calculations for system performance and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and other personnel to support various projects.
Qualifications- Education: Currently a junior or senior enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Ocean Engineering.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
