Job Description
We are seeking an Application Programmer III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IBM DataStage and enterprise ETL development and a proven ability to design, build, test, and deploy high-quality data integration solutions and migrate ETL workloads.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a hands-on developer delivering end-to-end ETL solutions.
- Design, build, test, and deploy data integration components and applications.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across teams.
- Engage Line of Business partners to gather requirements and drive collaboration.
- Lead successful build and implementation of new applications.
- Migrate applications to an in-house ETL tool as required.
- Develop core IBM DataStage ETL for data movement, quality, and cleansing.
- Translate ETL design into development activities in partnership with Business Users and Solution Architects.
- Design, implement, and operate process models for sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction.
- Create documentation including metadata, ER diagrams, business processes, and process flows.
- Troubleshoot ETL failures or warnings and provide technical support for ETL, warehouse reports, and analysis tools.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on ETL solutions to project teams and developers.
- Prepare deployment packages including documentation and DSX/ID exports.
- Enable CI/CD capabilities and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize pipelines.
- Guide teams on design and best practices, including pairing and code reviews for performance.
- Deliver complex features end-to-end with appropriate automation for single or multiple teams.
- Conduct research and prototyping, evaluate toolsets for release management and CI/CD.
- Work with stakeholders to define solution needs and align with architects on technical requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with ETL tools, especially IBM DataStage, with experience in data movement, quality, and cleansing.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica and enterprise data integration patterns.
- Strong SQL skills with Oracle and Teradata environments.
- Ability to design, test, deploy, and support ETL solutions in Agile teams.
- Experience troubleshooting ETL processes and optimizing performance at scale.
- Clear communication skills for collaboration with LOB partners, architects, and developers.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SAP packs and high-volume data processing with tuning in DataStage or Informatica.
- Background in CI/CD, release management tooling, and Agile/Scrum practices.
