Senior Design Engineer

The Senior Design Engineer will work as part of a team of up to 10 Design Engineers responsible for designing mechanical products and systems from concept through production.

This role focuses on heavy industrial manufacturing environments and requires strong technical leadership, hands-on design experience, and the ability to deliver cost-effective, high-quality products that meet customer requirements.

Education & Experience Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)

·         Senior-level engineer with 5+ years of design engineering experience

·         Heavy industrial manufacturing background required

·         Heavy haul trailer or trailer manufacturing experience is a strong plus

·         Heavy equipment engineering experience is a plus

·         Strong proficiency in design software and advanced Excel skills

·         Solid understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing economics

·         Ability to identify automation and process improvement opportunities

·         Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

·         Innovative mindset with an appreciation for lean manufacturing principles

·         Ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and technologies

Must Have :

·         Local or commutable candidates only to the Waterloo, Iowa area       

·         Minimum 5+ years of experience

·         Heavy industrial manufacturing background is mandatory

·         Trailer manufacturing experience is a strong plus

·         100% on-site role
