Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Marketo Engineer to own the design, architecture, and execution of enterprise-scale marketing automation solutions using Adobe Marketo Engage. This role provides technical leadership across marketing operations, ensures platform scalability and governance, and acts as the primary Marketo authority for stakeholders across Marketing, Sales Operations, and IT.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex Marketo solutions, including multi-stream nurtures, lead scoring models, and lifecycle frameworks
· Own the end-to-end Marketo platform strategy, including instance health, scalability, governance, and best practices
· Serve as the primary technical lead for Marketo, guiding engineers, analysts, and marketers on platform usage and design decisions
· Design and optimize CRM integrations (Salesforce or equivalent), including lead routing, sync error handling, and data flow optimization
· Define and enforce Marketo governance standards—naming conventions, folder structures, token strategy, and operational controls
· Oversee data quality, segmentation strategy, and compliance, ensuring accurate targeting and privacy adherence
· Drive campaign performance optimization through A/B testing, analytics, and continuous improvement
· Lead third-party integrations (REST APIs, webinar platforms, LinkedIn, Adobe Experience Platform, Journey Optimizer, etc.)
· Proactively monitor and troubleshoot platform, campaign, and integration issues, minimizing business impact
· Create and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and operational runbooks
· Partner with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Marketo solutions

Required Skills & Experience
· 6+ years of experience in Marketing Automation, with 4+ years of deep hands-on Marketo Engage expertise
· Proven experience leading enterprise-scale Marketo implementations
· Strong command of lead lifecycle management, scoring, routing, and nurture strategy
· Advanced experience with Salesforce–Marketo integrations and sync troubleshooting
· Hands-on knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and custom integrations
· Strong analytical mindset with experience in campaign performance reporting and optimization
· Ability to lead technical discussions with senior marketing, sales, and IT stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
· Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) or Marketo Certified Architect (MCA)
· Experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)
· Exposure to additional Martech platforms (HubSpot, Eloqua, Pardot)
· Experience in client-facing, consulting, or managed services environments
· Prior experience mentoring or leading Marketo engineers or marketing operations teams
