The Salesforce Developer is a senior, hands-on individual contributor responsible for the design, delivery, and long-term stewardship of Salesforce solutions. This role requires a hybrid expert who is equally proficient in UI-based configuration (using a Flow-first approach) and custom Apex development to support complex system integrations and connectivity. The Developer Lead partners directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-architected solutions across Sales, Service, and Health Clouds.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. UI Configuration & Declarative Leadership
- Serve as the platform authority for UI-based configuration, including the design of custom objects, schema relationships, validation rules, and formula fields.
- Expertly utilize Salesforce Flow (record-triggered, screen flows, and subflows) to automate business processes with a "configuration-first" mindset.
- Optimize the end-user experience using Dynamic Forms, Lightning record pages, and standard Salesforce UI capabilities.
2. Apex Development & Integration "Connects"
- Design and develop Apex classes, triggers, and invocable actions to extend the platform beyond declarative limits.
- Build and maintain robust system integrations (connects) between Salesforce and external data sources using Apex and platform-native integration patterns.
- Develop and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) to enhance user interfaces and support specialized business workflows.
3. Platform Stewardship & Technical Strategy
- Translate functional business requirements into scalable Salesforce designs that align with platform best practices and governor limits.
- Design and maintain a secure security model using permission sets, sharing rules, and role hierarchy, particularly within regulated (Health Cloud) environments.
- Identify and remediate technical debt, modernizing legacy automation (Workflow Rules/Process Builder) into high-performance Flows and Apex.
4. Delivery & Documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across configuration, automation, custom code, and integrations.
- Maintain clear technical and functional documentation for all Flows, custom code, and platform standards.
- Partner with DevOps and stakeholders to define release practices and environment strategy (sandboxes, deployments).
Qualification Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years in IT with 5+ years of dedicated Salesforce development experience in complex, multi-cloud environments.
- Technical Core: Expert-level proficiency in Salesforce Flow AND Apex (Triggers, Classes, Integrations).
- Certifications: Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer I (PDI) are required.
- Skills: Proven ability to bridge the gap between "clicks" and "code," selecting the right tool for the specific business challenge.
- Education: College degree, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a Clinical focus.
