Senior Infrastructure Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Saint Louis, MO that is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer.

Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of System Architecture, this role provides infrastructure security, compliance, and vulnerability management across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments. The Infrastructure Engineer ensures systems are secure, current, and aligned with risk, audit, and compliance requirements while supporting long-term infrastructure strategy.
This position leads vulnerability remediation, patching, system hardening, and backup integrity efforts, working closely with infrastructure, security, end-user technology, and application teams to drive timely resolution. The role also provides Tier 3 infrastructure support and escalated incident resolution, along with complex system analysis, design, and deployment.

Responsibilities:
* Owning vulnerability remediation programseading server patching and update processes
* Implementing hardening standards across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms; Supporting security posture across Azure and on-prem compute, storage, and networking environments
* Oversees backup platforms, validates recovery capabilities, and participates in disaster recovery testing
* Additional duties include retiring legacy environments, transitioning to modern server management practices, automating system configuration and monitoring, and supporting infrastructure-related incident response
* Partners with security and leadership to address audit findings, risk items, and compliance requirements, while continuously identifying and driving improvements in infrastructure security, patching, and vulnerability management processes

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
* 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or a related role, with a strong focus on security and vulnerability management.
* 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and/or other cloud providers preferred
* 5+ years of experience with Operating systems with an emphasis on Windows server platforms required
* 5+ years of experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or other hypervisor platforms required
* 5+ years of experience with Enterprise storage solutions preferred
* 5+ years of experience with standard enterprise server architecture
* 5+ years' of experience with Enterprise Identity Management
* Strong experience with Windows Server administration
* Experience with vulnerability management and patching tools (e.g., Qualys, Microsoft Defender, SCCM, or similar)
* Experience with backup and recovery solutions (Cohesity or similar platforms)
* Familiarity with Microsoft security ecosystem (Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID) preferred
* Scripting or automation experience PowerShell preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
