Data Functional Analyst

Location: New Brighton, Minnesota (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

This opportunity is for a Data Functional Analyst to support a large-scale business transformation program. The program focuses on implementing and transitioning to strategic business platforms, including FSM, ERP, HCM, and CRM tools. The analyst will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical documentation to ensure smooth and efficient data migration processes, specifically within the Financial Operations workstream.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and interpret business and data requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive functional design documents to serve as blueprints for data engineers.
  • Work closely with business users to analyze, validate, and translate requirements into functional specifications.
  • Create detailed process/data flow diagrams and data mapping documentation for end-to-end data migration.
  • Partner with data engineers to ensure a thorough understanding of functional requirements and assist in creating technical solutions.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure functional designs are implemented correctly and meet business requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support during all phases of the data migration project.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing data migration processes and documentation practices.
  • Work with teams including IT, marketing, field service, finance, and operations to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of experience with master data management, data migration, and data transformation activities within medium to large-scale initiatives. A strong background in documenting business requirements and creating functional design documents is required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using data mapping tools and documentation software. Familiarity with data migration concepts, methodologies, and basic data engineering principles is necessary. Proven experience in Data Acquisition / Source to Target mapping and Data Cleansing / Quality is also required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP implementation projects, particularly Oracle ERP.
  • A background with projects and financial data.
  • Experience working in a hybrid delivery model that spans time zones.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay rate is between $69.00/hour and $115.00/hour.
