The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building complex integrations across SaaS applications, enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
The Workato Developer will work closely with business analysts, application teams, architects, and stakeholders to understand integration requirements, translate them into scalable solutions, and ensure reliable data flow across enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain integration workflows and automation solutions using Workato.

  • Integrate systems using REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, JSON, XML, OAuth, SFTP, databases, and messaging protocols.
  • Work with Workato API Platform to expose and consume APIs securely.
  • Develop complex transformation and mapping logic between disparate systems.
  • Implement error handling, retries, logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure production reliability.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures and perform root-cause analysis for production issues.
  • Optimize existing recipes for performance, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Develop custom connectors using Workato SDK when out-of-the-box connectors do not meet requirements.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and application owners on integration architecture and technical design.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Follow integration development standards, naming conventions, security practices, and documentation requirements.
  • Manage integration deployments across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
  • Support CI/CD and version-control processes for integration assets where applicable.
  • Create technical documentation, integration specifications, data mappings, and support/runbook documentation.
  • Monitor production integrations and proactively identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in integration development, with significant hands-on experience using Workato.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting Workato recipes and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience with REST APIs, SOAP APIs, webhooks, JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, and API authentication mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, filtering, looping, conditional logic, and error handling.
  • Experience integrating multiple enterprise applications and SaaS platforms.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with SFTP/file-based integrations and scheduled/event-driven integrations.
  • Experience developing or consuming custom APIs and connectors.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns such as request/response, publish/subscribe, batch processing, event-driven integrations, and asynchronous processing.
  • Experience troubleshooting production integrations and analyzing logs and failures.
  • Knowledge of integration security, credentials management, encryption, and secure data transfer practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workato API Management/API Platform.
  • Experience with Workato custom connectors and SDK.
  • Experience with enterprise applications such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, DevOps, and automated deployment processes.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience with enterprise integration architecture and API-led integration.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
