Subject Matter Expert (SME) - VFMP Modernization Domain SME

Description:
Seeking highly motivated and self-directed Subject Matter Experts to provide specialized functional and/or technical expertise supporting VFMP modernization initiatives across intake, applications, claims, appeals, duty to assist, inquiry management, care coordination, benefits coordination, pharmacy, and nursing review. These SMEs ensure solutions align to operational realities, dependencies (including EDI-related) are identified early, and delivered capabilities are adoptable and complete.
These positions are contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide domain expertise to support requirements definition, validation, and prioritization.
Identify operational impacts, constraints, and dependencies; recommend mitigations and sequencing approaches.
Support elaboration workshops and stakeholder sessions; document outcomes and decisions.
Support testing readiness (UAT planning support, scenario development, validation of outcomes).
Support development of SOP/training inputs and adoption artifacts in coordination with KM/OCM resources.
Provide ongoing advisory support to ensure modernization aligns with business objectives and frontline execution.
Required Skills:
Deep expertise in one or more VFMP operational domains and ability to translate operations into requirements.
Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working in cross-functional teams
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with healthcare payer/benefits environments, eligibility, claims, appeals, and/or EDI-related impacts.
Experience supporting federal modernization initiatives preferred
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
8+ years relevant domain experience preferred
