Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Research Associate for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in South San Francisco, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role supports a newly established lab focused on automated scientific workflows and platform operations. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline and will be comfortable working in a fully onsite lab environment using specialized automated systems. This position involves production work in a lab supporting general research, including maintaining stocks, running and maintaining automation, fulfilling orders, and receiving and distributing materials.
Responsibilities: - Operate specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Create protocols/scripts within automation software
- Build, prioritize, and coordinate work plans and adhere to timelines
- Multi-task the execution of deadline-driven workflows in real-time
- Troubleshoot various lab instrumentation and automation
- Perform Quality Control (QC) and calibration of equipment for both accuracy and precision
- Perform HTQC using LC-MS to verify mass and purity of newly submitted compounds
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping activities
- Process requests, create shipping documents, and organize freezers
- Store and retrieve samples
- Receive and register material and stock lab materials
- Learn and follow SOP's
- Standard schedule: Monday-Friday and expected start time between 8:00-8:30 AM. Standard 8-hour workday ending approximately 4:00-4:30 PM
Requirements: - B.S. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Physical, Life Sciences or related technical discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in a lab environment (strong academic lab experience considered)
- Must be comfortable wearing lab coat, glasses, and gloves daily
- Demonstrate independence and ability to produce quality results under minimal direction

- Experience operating specific liquid handling automation: Hamilton VANTAGE, Agilent Bravo, Beckman Echo
- Experience writing protocols with laboratory automation software: Hamilton VENUS, Agilent VWorks, Echo Liquid Handler, Titian Mosaic
- Experience operating Waters LC-MS equipment to perform quality control of organic chemistry molecules
