Job Description Summary
You will be in charge of engineering activities for the GE Vernova gas turbine Base frame, foundations (none-embedded components), and tools for rotor handling, covering all GE Vernova frames.

These systems are critical for transport, shaft line behavior, site installation, gas turbine maintenance. You will join a global engineering team that is part of the Mechanical CoE.

Job Description
This is a cross-functional role to:
  • Execute technical design.
  • Deliver drawings, specifications and BOMs for the projects.
  • Calculation (structural and civil work), foundation interface, load table calculations with seismic & wind calculation.
  • Collaborate with the component suppliers, engineering teams, manufacturing utilities.
  • Provide technical assistance to the sites.
  • covers all stages of the life cycle of the product starting from NPI and ITO to field issue resolution.
  • Support could be provided on Civil work and Structure calculation and could lead to FEA studies.

Lead engineer is in close contact with Technical Leader, Principal engineer and Senior Principal Engineer. He interacts with PFL (Product Fulfilment Leader), Power train dynamics, GT-PE (Gas Turbine Project Engineer), customers, suppliers, site.

Roles and Responsibilities
Owner will be responsible to:
  • Keep Safety as the first priority in its daily work.
  • Coordinate and manage the execution of design tasks (Drawing/Specification/Bill Of Materials) to deliver on time with expected quality level.
  • Ensure the design is per applicable rules, regulations codes and standards, design practice/work instruction, contractual requirement.
  • Has awareness on latest Building codes and Standard edition.
  • Has expertise for seismic & wind calculation according to countries' standards.
  • Ensure equipment maintainability and accessibility, 3D model review.
  • Make decisions or solve tasks problems in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  • Support HAZOP-studies, Hazard Assessment reviews and design reviews. He will ensure that corrective actions are closed on time.
  • Support on time Root Cause Analysis closure.
  • Carry out activities related to the purchase of equipment.
  • Support documents review.
  • Support / prepare design concepts review.
  • Support erection and commissioning activities at site, solving field issues.
  • Support to keep up-to-date standard part list (GBOM) and standard designs.
  • Propose design improvement and cost reduction.
  • Provide input in weekly scrum and project review meetings.
  • Support qualification of new suppliers or new products.
  • Communicate feedback to all levels of our organization.
  • Use technical knowledge to provide recommendations.
  • Knows how or will learn how our scope is interfaced with others.
  • Develop knowledge in the discipline.
  • As transverse activity could provide support on Structural Design and calculation of foundation interface and structures for enclosures, inlet filter house support structures or others if required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 2-3 years of engineering experience.
  • Know and apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the systems/ components
  • Knowledge of STAAD Pro or other general structural analysis programs, i.e. RISA, SAP 2000
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Mechanical APDL would be an advantage.

  • Readiness to travel for workshop/site inspections few times per year (up to 10% of its time).

  • English language mandatory.
  • Following would be an advantage:
    • knowledge of GE Vernova tools and methods (e.g. GTCC-PLM, ClearOrbit (SDR, RFI, NCR),...).
    • Specific Knowledge about the relevant codes and standards like IEC, ASCE, ANSI, ASME, ASHRE, EN, OSHA etc.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
