Role Title: Contract IT Procurement & Vendor Manager

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)

Preferred Location: San Francisco, CA Onsite (Mandatory): Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

 

Role Description:

The IT Procurement & Vendor Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and management of IT-related contracts, vendors, and procurement activities. This role ensures the IT organization achieves maximum value from vendor partnerships, drives cost optimization, maintains compliance, and supports operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in contract negotiation, vendor relationship management, procurement governance, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced global environment.

 

Procurement & Contract Management

  • Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for IT services, software, hardware, cloud platforms, and infrastructure.
  • Manage RFPs/RFIs/RFQs, vendor evaluations, and competitive sourcing processes.
  • Draft, review, redline, and negotiate IT contracts, including MSAs, SaaS agreements, licensing, and professional services contracts.
  • Oversee renewals for software licenses, subscriptions, and maintenance contracts.
  • Validate hardware and software inventories to ensure accurate contract and licensing management.
  • Develop cost avoidance strategies and deliver enterprise-wide spend and savings initiatives.

Vendor Management & Governance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors and service providers.
  • Establish governance frameworks to measure vendor performance, compliance, and service delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Drive vendor risk management, ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve vendor escalations and contractual disputes.
  • Support vendor consolidation strategies to streamline contracts and reduce complexity.

Financial Management & Forecasting

  • Partner with IT leadership to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning for IT contracts.
  • Monitor and track IT spend, providing visibility to stakeholders on cost drivers, savings, and trends.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and contract optimizations.
  • Ensure timely approvals and accurate financial documentation for renewals and new contracts.

Audit, Compliance & Controls

  • SOC 1 and SOX audit support: Assist with SOC 1 and SOX audit requests by gathering evidence such as change records, approvals, access reviews, and system logs
  • Organize artifacts for audit readiness and maintain structured documentation repositories
  • Draft responses to audit inquiries

 

Requirements:

Bachelor''s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or related field (Master''s preferred).

  • 7-10 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or contract management, with a focus on IT services and technology.
  • Strong knowledge of IT procurement best practices, contract law, and IT licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription, cloud).
  • Proven track record of leading negotiations and achieving measurable cost savings.
  • Experience in managing global vendor relationships and large-scale procurement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, SaaS platforms, cybersecurity, and cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and spend analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities; able to influence and collaborate across organizations.
  • High attention to detail, with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with procurement tools, ERP systems (SAP, Coupa, Oracle), and contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
