Summary:
We are looking for a Data Engineer with a strong real estate analytics background to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary owner of migrating our existing Looker dashboard portfolio to Tableau, while building and maintaining the underlying data infrastructure that powers real estate reporting and decision-making. You will work closely with Real Estate, Finance, and Operations stakeholders to ensure our analytics ecosystem accurately reflects portfolio performance, space utilization, lease obligations, and market intelligence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end migration of existing Looker dashboards and reports to Tableau, including recreation of LookML logic as Tableau data sources, calculated fields, and published workbooks on Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.
  • Assemble and manage large, complex real estate datasets including space utilization and occupancy data from Serra view, badging and access control data, lease data, and portfolio metrics ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading of real estate data from diverse sources including property management systems, space management platforms (Serra view), badging and access control systems, and financial systems, using cloud-based data platforms, with experience in Google Cloud Platform (Big Query, Cloud Storage, Dataflow) preferred; familiarity with Oracle DB a plus as the team transitions to Google Cloud Platform.
  • Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insight into key real estate performance metrics such as portfolio occupancy, cost per square foot, lease expiration schedules, headcount-to-space ratios, and capital project tracking.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and redesign data infrastructure for greater scalability and reliability across the real estate data ecosystem.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on data discrepancies and pipeline issues, implementing durable fixes and documenting resolution processes.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Finance, Facilities, and Operations stakeholders to understand evolving reporting needs and translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable data solutions.
  • Establish and maintain data governance standards for real estate data, including documentation of data definitions, lineage, metadata, and dependency mapping.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Tableau, including workbook development, calculated fields, LOD expressions, data source optimization, and publishing to Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with Looker, including LookML modeling, Explores, and dashboard development with demonstrated ability to translate Looker logic into equivalent Tableau solutions.
  • Experience working with real estate data domains such as lease administration, portfolio management, space and occupancy planning, or facilities operations.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms; hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Big Query, Cloud Storage, or Dataflow) strongly preferred, with Oracle DB background beneficial during an active Oracle-to-Google Cloud Platform migration.
  • Proven ability to design and optimize data pipelines and architectures that support large, complex datasets.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on data and process issues to identify improvements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and translate technical concepts for non-technical real estate and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with real estate platforms such as Serra view for space and occupancy management, and experience working with badging or access control data as a proxy for occupancy and utilization.
  • Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) or similar transformation frameworks.
  • Background supporting Corporate Real Estate (CRE), Workplace, or Facilities teams in an enterprise environment.
