Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Engineering Program Manager for a contract assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in San Jose, CA. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week in office.
We are seeking a dynamic Engineering Program Manager to join the Unified Platform organization within the Identity & Administration space. In this role, you will lead critical programs spanning Identity Platform and Education initiatives with the Student Product Group (SPG) - directly impacting how millions of students, educators, and enterprise users securely authenticate and access Adobe products globally.
You will partner closely with product, design, architecture, engineering, and business leaders to drive execution excellence across a complex, matrixed organization. This role demands clear prioritization, sharp communication, and systems thinking - translating technical complexity into business outcomes while navigating trade-offs across resources, sequencing, and scope. Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end program delivery across a portfolio of initiatives spanning Identity Platform and SPG programs, coordinating across multiple engineering teams and organizations simultaneously.
- Drive prioritization and trade-offs across resources, timelines, and scope - supporting intake requests from business units for Identity and maintaining waterline clarity to ensure the right work gets done at the right time.
- Own execution transparency - build and maintain detailed program plans, track risks and dependencies, deliver crisp status reporting, and serve as the primary point of contact for program details at all levels.
- Build strategic partnerships with Product Management, Engineering, Design, Architecture, QA, and business stakeholders - influencing without authority across a globally diverse workforce.
- Proactively manage risk using data-driven insights, creative problem-solving, and clear escalation paths to keep programs on track.
- Participate actively in requirements, design, and architecture reviews - maintaining an end-to-end understanding of solutions being built, their upstream/downstream dependencies, and the critical changes needed to support them.
- Drive organizational improvements - streamline processes, introduce tooling efficiencies, and accelerate execution across Identity and SPG initiatives.
- Present confidently to audiences ranging from individual contributors to VPs, translating technical trade-offs into clear business context.
Required Skills:
- Experience
- 8+ years of experience in technical program management, software engineering, or related disciplines, with at least 5 years leading cross-functional programs.
- Proven track record managing a portfolio of concurrent programs of varying size, scope, and complexity across multiple teams and organizations.
- Experience in cloud/services-based environments, with a strong grasp of resiliency, scalability, and platform stability.
- Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts - OAuth 2.0, Federated ID, SSO, SCIM, and authentication patterns highly desirable.
- Comfort engaging in web development, cloud infrastructure, and microservices architecture discussions.
- Understanding of education terminologies and workflows is a plus.

- Sharp prioritization instincts with an acute sense of urgency and business impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - equally effective in an executive briefing and an engineering design review.
- Self-motivated and technically curious - proactively learns how systems work and surfaces risks before they become blockers.
- Strong relationship-building skills across a globally distributed, matrixed organization.
- Tools & Methodologies
- Proficient with Jira and program/portfolio management tooling.
- Experienced with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle processes.
