UX Designer 5

Location: Deerfield, Illinois (Remote)

Role Overview

This organization is seeking a Senior Product Designer to take the lead in designing complex features and initiatives for an assigned product area. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners across business, product, and engineering to progress the customer experience while continuing to raise the level of quality. Valuable frameworks, design tools, and user-centered design methodologies will be utilized to achieve these objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the designs for wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, site maps, interactions, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes for medium to large-sized features or initiatives.
  • Collaborate with designated partners to uphold design and user experience quality, consistency, and alignment across all initiatives while translating research insights into customer-driven experiences.
  • Leverage the established design system to ensure consistency in experiences across the ecosystem while identifying opportunities to evolve new guidelines and user interface patterns.
  • Communicate design ideas and sell concepts to members of the product pod and key stakeholders, negotiating to arrive at compromises that meet both customer and business needs.
  • Ensure design solutions are informed by the voice of the customer, partnering with design leadership to identify opportunities where research can inspire or elevate the design.
  • Consider existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, and platform-specific requirements to produce data-informed solutions.
  • Manage concurrent design deliverables for multiple features, communicating progress, dependencies, and challenges to ensure risk mitigation and timely delivery.
  • Inform and participate in user research activities to ensure the research yields insights that can inform the evolution of the design solution.
  • Proactively identify and resolve high-level issues to ensure the shipped experiences match the design deliverables.
  • Promote design thinking practices within the product pod.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or a related field.

Experience: At least 3 years of experience designing for large-scale desktop, mobile web, and mobile app consumer experiences, along with experience working in a fast-paced environment as a member of a cross-functional team and familiarity with Agile software development practices.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Cloud, experience designing with WCAG accessibility standards, and experience designing for both web and mobile platforms. A strong online or PDF portfolio demonstrating the application of design thinking methodologies is required for consideration.
