Oracle WMS Lead Consultant - Automotive Warehousing, Plant Logistics, and Shipping

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oracle WMS Lead Consultant to lead the design, configuration, implementation, testing, and deployment of Oracle Fusion Cloud Warehouse Management.The consultant will implement warehouse and plant-logistics capabilities supporting high-volume receiving, inventory control, replenishment, kitting, line-side supply, picking, packing, shipping, customer compliance, and traceability. The role requires strong Oracle WMS expertise and hands-on knowledge of automotive warehousing, OEM delivery expectations, JIT/JIS fulfillment, returnable containers, and plant material-flow operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead WMS discovery workshops covering receiving, quality inspection, putaway, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, cycle counting, returns, and warehouse exception processes.
Document current-state and future-state warehouse and plant-logistics processes for raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, service parts, returnable containers, and customer shipments.
Configure Oracle Fusion WMS capabilities for facilities, locations, zones, location types, item attributes, inventory controls, RF/mobile transactions, warehouse tasking, directed putaway, replenishment, allocation, waving, picking, packing, loading, and shipping.
Design RF/mobile, barcode, handheld-device, scanning, printer, and warehouse-user processes.
Define inventory-control processes for lots, serial numbers, revisions, LPNs, containers, quality status, quarantine, damaged inventory, FIFO/FEFO, traceability, and stock adjustments.
Design automotive-specific warehouse processes including line-side replenishment, Kanban, milk runs, cross-docking, sequencing, kitting, consolidation, returnable-container handling, and JIT/JIS fulfillment.
Partner with Order Management, Inventory, Manufacturing, Procurement, Transportation, EDI, and PaaS teams to enable end-to-end pick-pack-ship and shipment-confirmation processes.
Define warehouse exception processes for shortages, damaged material, failed scans, mis-picks, substitutions, labeling errors, late orders, split shipments, and premium-freight situations.
Support data migration for warehouse master data, facilities, locations, zones, items, inventory balances, lot/serial records, LPNs, and open transactions.
Develop process maps, configuration workbooks, test scripts, training materials, cutover plans, hypercare procedures, and warehouse operating procedures.
Lead SIT, UAT, device testing, integration testing, peak-volume testing, shipping compliance testing, and go-live readiness activities.
Support command-center operations and post-go-live optimization.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of warehouse-management or warehouse-execution implementation experience.
3+ years of Oracle Fusion Cloud WMS implementation or support experience.
Strong functional knowledge of receiving, putaway, replenishment, wave planning, allocation, picking, packing, loading, shipping, cycle counting, and inventory control.
Experience configuring warehouse master data, facility structures, locations, zones, tasking, RF/mobile processes, inventory statuses, and exception-management processes.
Automotive OEM, Tier 1 supplier, plant-logistics, sequencing-center, or JIT/JIS warehouse experience.
Experience with returnable packaging, dunnage, racks, container loops, line-side supermarkets, and Kanban replenishment.
Experience integrating WMS with Oracle Inventory, Order Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Transportation, and external material-handling or print systems.
Strong knowledge of barcodes, RF scanning, lot/serial traceability, containerization, label printing, and warehouse performance metrics.
Experience in high-volume manufacturing, automotive, industrial manufacturing, consumer products, or complex distribution operations.
Strong workshop facilitation, process-design, testing, training, and operational-support skills.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% within the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AS/RS, conveyors, warehouse-control systems, pick-to-light, voice picking, RFID, AMRs, or other automation technologies.
Experience with transportation execution, ASN compliance, carrier integration, dock scheduling, and yard operations.
