Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Architect / Product Owner with a strong background in the Life & Annuity Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving requirements gathering, product vision, business process improvements, and solution delivery initiatives.
While titled as a Business Architect, this role is closely aligned with a Senior Business Analyst/Product Owner profile, requiring strong business analysis, stakeholder management, and domain expertise in Life & Annuity operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into actionable business and functional requirements.
- Drive product backlog management, prioritization, and requirement refinement activities.
- Conduct business process analysis and identify opportunities for optimization and transformation.
- Create business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, process flows, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Partner with technology, architecture, and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with business goals.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
- Support UAT planning, execution, and business sign-offs.
- Provide domain expertise across Life & Annuity products and operations.
- Ensure alignment between business strategy, product roadmap, and implementation activities.
Required Qualifications
- Years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Business Architect.
- Strong experience within the Life & Annuity Insurance domain.
- Proven experience managing product backlogs and working in Agile environments.
- Expertise in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and business process modeling.
- Strong understanding of insurance policy administration, claims, underwriting, servicing, and related Life & Annuity processes.
- Experience translating business needs into functional requirements and user stories.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with insurance carriers, TPAs, or insurance technology platforms.
- Knowledge of digital transformation and modernization initiatives within Life & Annuity organizations.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum frameworks and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
