Sr. Java Backend Engineer (Fantasy Sports Domain Exp)

AgreeYa is a global Systems Integrator and is seeking an experienced Sr. Software Dev Engineer to join our growing team. The engineer will work on a migration from a legacy API system to the newer Graphite system, mainly focused on filling data gaps, enhancing APIs, and ensuring parity with the old system.

Experience Required:

• Backend API development (Java/Kotlin; JVM environment).
• GraphQL server work (not mandatory but a strong plus).
• Writing tests, participating in code reviews, design reviews.
• Debugging and diagnosing production issues.
• Supporting frontend/mobile teams to ensure proper API integrations.
• Participating in standups and cross-functional status meetings.

Skill Requirements:

• 5 6+ years of backend API development.
• Strong experience in Java or Kotlin (either is acceptable).
• Experience with relational databases.
• Experience working in Linux environments (mandatory).
• Familiarity with code reviews, testing, design reviews, and full development lifecycle.

Nice-to-have

• GraphQL experience (helps ramp-up).
• AWS knowledge (not required, but helpful due to interacting systems).

Degree Requirement

• CS degree not required; strong experience is sufficient.
