Location: Onsite in Des Moines, 4 days/week
OverviewOur client is seeking a Project / Product Manager dedicated to Infrastructure Security to support and drive critical security initiatives across enterprise infrastructure platforms. This role is a dual-hat position, combining strong project execution with true Product Owner responsibilities in a product-led operating model.
This is not a coordination-only PM role. The ideal candidate brings infrastructure security experience, is comfortable working hands-on with technical teams, and can translate security objectives into clear, actionable product backlogs and delivery plans.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Ownership & Delivery- Serve as Product Owner for infrastructure security initiatives, owning and managing the product backlog
- Write clear, technically sound user stories and acceptance criteria for security features and capabilities
- Partner with engineering and security teams to prioritize work based on risk, impact, and strategic value
- Maintain and communicate roadmaps, milestones, and delivery plans
Project Management- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure security projects from intake through implementation
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security engineering, cloud, and identity teams
- Track progress, dependencies, risks, and issues; drive resolution to keep delivery on track
- Facilitate agile ceremonies as needed (planning, refinement, standups, reviews)
Infrastructure Security Collaboration- Act as a trusted partner to infrastructure security engineers and architects
- Ensure initiatives align with enterprise security standards, regulatory expectations, and risk posture
- Support initiatives across domains such as:
- Cloud infrastructure security
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Network security
- Endpoint / platform security
- Translate technical security concepts into clear communication for stakeholders and leaders
Required Qualifications- Hands-on experience in Infrastructure Security, either currently or earlier in career (e.g., security engineering, infrastructure engineering, cloud security)
- Proven experience functioning as a Product Owner, including backlog ownership and user story development
- Strong project management experience delivering complex, technical initiatives
- Working knowledge of agile and product-based delivery models
- Ability to collaborate deeply with technical teams and challenge assumptions when needed
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience in financial services or regulated environments
- Background transitioning from engineer to PM/PO
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar
- Experience balancing security risk, delivery velocity, and engineering capacity
- SAFe, Scrum, or Agile certifications (nice to have, not required)
Work Environment & Contract Details- Onsite 4 days per week (local candidates preferred)
