Job Description

The Section Manager of EH&S IT Systems will lead a team of technical staff to provide IT solutions for the organization. This role will manage and plan the strategy and roadmap for specific technology disciplines and provide thought leadership in a wide range of technology initiatives to support business priorities. The section manager will ensure integration within and between IT domains by assessing solution options and guiding the development of business solutions through technology and collaborate with corporate Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) group on technical standards, development, integration and maintenance.

This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders, engineers, analysts, and ETS to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Support data analysis to identify trends and work with organizations to implement mitigating strategies to minimize risk.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of the organizations application portfolio and ensure they meet all Sarbanes-Oxley and Computer Security requirements.
  • Evaluate and assess new and emerging technologies to drive process automation, establish leading practices and improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor the IT and business industries as well as best practices and develop strategies for implementation. Communicate and influence strategic direction and can represent at senior executive level.
  • Manage projects including, but not limited to, scope, budget, resources, schedule and overall project plans.
  • Support and respond to internal audits, reviews and assessments, as applicable, and develop sustainable corrective action plans.
  • Develop staff; research/provide recommendations on technical training, evaluate/provide feedback for skill development. Promote a culture of honesty, openness and integrity.
  • Lead a team that works well with our internal and external customers, creating win-win scenarios.
  • Establish team goals and performance benchmarks that align with departmental, organizational, and company-wide objectives. Track and measure these goals and provide feedback on process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain EH&S internal SharePoint sites.
  • Perform other assignments as directed by the director or VP.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years' related work experience or
  • Master's Degree and 6 years' related work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or business-related discipline and 8 years' related work experience designing, developing, implementing technologies in one or more domains, e.g. applications or data.
  • Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or business-related discipline and 6 years' related work experience designing, developing, implementing technologies in one or more domains, e.g. applications or data.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Experience in evaluating technology and establishing standard implementations, required.
  • Ability to solve complex data problems and design innovative, strategic solutions, required.
  • Must be experienced in one of the following technologies and practices; Big Data/Analytics, Cloud (SaaS, PaaS), mobile, sensors (Internet of Things), Oracle Financial Suite, Customer Care and Billing, Work Management Systems or Integration Services, required.
  • Must be comfortable and skilled at selling new processes and techniques, communicate designs and give persuasive presentations and interact with all levels of management and communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, required.
  • Ability to establish medium and long-term plans and priorities and estimate investment requirements, required.
  • Ability to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders, clearly articulating data strategies and implications, required.
  • Manage complex systems accurately while juggling multiple priorities, required.
  • Experience and expertise in communication protocols and security measures for Operational Technology (OT) field devices. This includes configuring and securing communication channels, implementing security policies, and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data transmitted between field devices and control systems, preferred.
  • Experience and/or formal training or certification in Project Management or one or more domains desired, e.g. application architecture, data architecture, IT Infrastructure, business/process architecture or redesign, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
