Our client, a leader in the digital marketplace space, is seeking a strategic and hands-on QA Engineering Manager to lead their quality assurance department. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you will be the primary advocate for quality, overseeing a team of automated testers and embedded QA staff across multiple software pods.
This is a pivotal role where you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy-such as implementing AI-driven testing-and tactical execution, ensuring that every deployment meets the highest standards of user experience and technical reliability.

responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee QA Engineering activities to deliver high-quality web applications, ensuring a seamless and premium user experience.
- Automation Mastery: Lead automated QA efforts to maximize regression suite coverage and support a robust continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of QA Engineers, providing constructive guidance to foster career growth and high performance.
- Release Management: Review sprint test plans, track release readiness, and coordinate production validation during deployments.
- Process Innovation: Lead the evaluation and adoption of AI/ML and other automation acceleration technologies to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key stakeholder in the 3-Tier Support system and facilitate clear communication between Engineering, Production, and QA.
- Defect Governance: Identify and analyze recurring issues/bugs, facilitating long-term solutions and escalating critical risks early in the development lifecycle.
qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- 5+ years of experience as a People Manager with direct reports.
- 7+ years of experience with Automation - Selenium and Java.
- 1+ year of experience with leveraging AI/ML tools to enhance QA workflows and validate complex machine learning use cases.
- Ecommerce or Digital Marketplace environment experience required.
- This position requires residency in either the Eastern or Central time zones.
