Our client is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst in Durham, NC.

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong background in Life Insurance and Annuities to join our growing QA team. This role focuses heavily on data validation, calculation testing, and system accuracy, ensuring the quality and integrity of complex, data-driven insurance platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of manual and automation testing expertise, with a strong emphasis on validating financial calculations, APIs, and system outputs.

Test Planning & Execution
Design, document, and execute test cases across functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing
Perform file-based testing, data validation, and calculation testing (e.g., premium and policy calculations)
Analyze system behavior and validate outputs against expected results
Manual & Automation Testing
Execute testing with a blend of 60-70% manual and 30-40% automation
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright
Contribute to API automation coverage (approximately 40% of automation effort)
API & Data Validation
Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI
Validate request/response accuracy, data consistency, and system integrations
Utilize SQL to verify backend data integrity and support validation efforts
Defect Management & Collaboration
Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA
Partner closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA teams to resolve issues
Support offshore QA and development teams as needed
Insurance Domain Testing
Validate core insurance functions, including:
New business processing
Policy administration and servicing
Premium calculations and withdrawals
Claims and accounting workflows
UAT & Documentation
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide detailed reporting
Maintain comprehensive documentation for test cases, results, and audit purposes

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field
5-7 years of Quality Assurance experience
Strong background in manual and automation testing
Experience with Selenium or Playwright
Proficiency in JavaScript and SQL
Hands-on experience with API testing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in data-heavy environments
Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies
Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
Experience in financial services or insurance, with strong preference for life and annuities
Familiarity with insurance platforms such as FAST, Vitech, OIPA, ALIP, CyberLife, or similar systems
Experience validating complex financial or calculation-based systems
