We are looking for a Senior Scala / Akka Software Engineer to build highly available, scalable platform notification services supporting critical events for Caterpillar engines and machines.

🔥 Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with Bachelor's degree OR 8+ years with Master's degree

• 5+ years – Java 8+

• 3+ years – Scala

• 2+ years – Akka (Actors, Streams, HTTP and/or Persistence)

• Strong experience building scalable, high-availability backend services

• Microservices / Event-Driven Architecture

• REST APIs and backend application development

• Strong understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms

• Agile/Scrum development experience

⭐ Strongly Preferred

• AWS – API Gateway, Lambda, Fargate, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, CloudFormation, ALB/NLB

• CI/CD – Jenkins or Azure DevOps

• PostgreSQL / DynamoDB / NoSQL

• Spring Boot REST APIs

• Functional Programming

• Reactive Streaming

• ZIO / Typelevel

• Technical leadership / mentoring experience
