This role combines advanced technical expertise with mentorship and strategic architectural input. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and support modern hybrid network solutions across Fortinet, Meraki, and Azure platforms, while serving as the highest escalation point for complex and mission-critical issues.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Engineering

  • Design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable network solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, including Fortinet, Meraki, and Azure.
  • Architect and support SD-WAN solutions, site-to-site VPNs, routing protocols, and network segmentation strategies across 650+ locations.
  • Develop and maintain Azure networking components, including virtual networks (VNets), routing, ExpressRoute, network security groups (NSGs), and Azure Firewall.

  • Utilize enterprise monitoring and management tools such as FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, LogicMonitor, and SolarWinds to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop automation and standardized processes to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Promote operational excellence by adhering to ITIL-aligned change, incident, and problem management practices.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce network security best practices, including segmentation and zero trust principles.
  • Manage firewall policies, VPN configurations, and SD-WAN routing in collaboration with Security and Cloud teams.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning through resilient and redundant network design.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior network engineers, supporting their development in troubleshooting, documentation, and project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security, to ensure seamless integration of network services.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to architectural planning for future infrastructure initiatives.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Coordinate with ISPs, carriers, and vendors for circuit provisioning, issue resolution, and escalation management.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance network performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Contribute to network modernization efforts, including SD-WAN expansion, Azure networking enhancements, and automation initiatives.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired locations into the enterprise network with minimal disruption.
  • Identify and reduce technical debt through standardization, lifecycle management, and comprehensive documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate, including SD-WAN, VPNs, advanced routing, and Security Fabric.
  • Strong experience with Meraki and Fortinet switching technologies.
  • Heavy In-depth knowledge of Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs, routing, ExpressRoute, and Azure Firewall.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and packet analysis skills in multi-vendor environments.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and configuration management tools (e.g., FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, SolarWinds, LogicMonitor).
  • Working knowledge of ITIL frameworks and structured change management processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
