Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Lehi, UT that is seeking a Data Engineer who takes pride in building reliable, production-grade data systems. In this role, you will design and own data pipelines and infrastructure that other teams can confidently depend on. You will ensure observability, documentation, and data quality are built into solutions from day one, enabling the broader organization to make data-driven decisions.

Summary:
Beyond individual tasks, the DBT Data Engineer will play a key role in raising the overall effectiveness and maturity of the data platform, improving processes, data models, and engineering practices across the team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building foundational data systems, working closely with stakeholders, and operating in an environment where priorities move quickly and impact is visible.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platform infrastructure
* Develop data models and transformations using DBT to support analytics and downstream data consumers
* Work with modern data warehouse platforms to structure and serve reliable data for analytics and reporting
* Implement observability, documentation, and testing within data pipelines to ensure reliability and maintainability
* Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver practical data solutions
* Contribute to improving the overall data platform architecture, standards, and engineering practices
* Help prioritize and manage competing requests in a fast-moving environment where data is critical to business operations

REQUIREMENTS:
* Hands-on experience with DBT for building and managing data transformation pipelines
* Strong understanding of data modeling stages (e.g., Raw, Staging, Marts or Bronze, Silver, Gold)
* Experience using Python for data workflows, automation, or pipeline development
* Comfortable working with Git-based version control systems (GitHub or GitLab)
* Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools and workflows
* Experience incorporating AI tools into daily engineering workflows is strongly preferred
* SQL expertise
* Strong SQL skills with the ability to write efficient queries and transformations for large datasets
* Cloud & Data Platform experience

Experience working with modern cloud data warehouses such as:
* Snowflake
* BigQuery
* Redshift

Experience working within AWS-based data environments, including services such as:
* Athena
* Glue (crawlers, catalog, table definitions)
* Iceberg table formats

Clear understanding of the differences between data warehouses and data lakes:
* Warehouse: structured analytics and querying layer
* Data lake: centralized raw data storage

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
