Job Overview: The client is seeking a skilled Python Developer with strong SQL expertise to support the evolution of an existing application into a more database-first architecture. This role requires hands-on experience working with Python-based systems while designing and optimizing data models, queries, and database structures. The selected candidate will play a key role in modernizing a production application by shifting business logic and processing closer to the database layer.
Responsibilities: - Enhance and maintain an existing Python-based application.
- Lead efforts to transition the application to a database-first design.
- Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries and data models.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refactor logic from Python into efficient database operations.
- Build and manage applications and databases within Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Support deployment, configuration, and performance tuning of cloud-based solutions.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and data integrity across systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related and application issues.
Qualifications: - Strong experience with Python development (production-level applications).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (query optimization, schema design, stored procedures, etc.).
- Experience working with and refactoring existing codebases.
- Solid understanding of data architecture and database-first design principles.
- Ability to balance application logic between backend services and databases.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including cloud-based application deployment and database setup/management.

Pay Range: $50 - $55
