Job Title: Oracle Database Application Analyst (Financial Systems)
Location: 100% Remote (EST)
Duration: 6 – 12 Months (Possible extension/hire)

Job Overview

The Financial Systems database team within Corporate Finance is seeking an Oracle Database Application Analyst. This role supports actuarial department by maintaining and enhancing the data warehouse used for life insurance financial and valuation reporting. The position involves a mix of application development and production support (L2 & L3), translating complex business and actuarial requirements into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and support internal financial reporting database applications for life insurance.
• Implement and enhance database applications for new and existing products.
• Automate reporting requirements and ensure the successful monthly load of the data warehouse.
• Develop control processes, produce automated reports, and conduct ad hoc analyses.
• Translate complex business and actuarial requirements into programming specifications and technology solutions.
• Collaborate with business, finance, and technology teams.
• Provide L2 and L3 production support for FMD Oracle database applications.
• Work on multiple projects with a sense of urgency, adapting focus as needed to meet critical system deadlines.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: 4-year college degree.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a database application development or database administrator role. 

Technical Skills (Mandatory - Minimum 2 years each):

• Oracle Database (11g/19c): Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQLPlus, and SQLLoader.
• Linux OS: Including shell scripting.
• TOAD: Required.

Additional Technical Skills:

• Advanced Excel (VLookup, Macros).
• Knowledge of scheduling tools (ESP/Stonebranch UAC) is preferred.
• Knowledge of MS-Access and Python is preferred.

Business Knowledge: Understanding of Life Insurance Products is required.
