Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor a team of electrical engineers, providing technical direction and career development support.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical engineering projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
  • Perform or oversee:
    - Power systems analysis and design for utility and industrial applications
    - Protective relaying system design and integration (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider)
    - Substation automation (RTAC, RTU, HMI, and related communication protocols)
    - Electrical drawing packages (SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, three-lines)
    - Distribution system design and upgrade specifications (MCCs, switchgear, relays, fuses, breakers, transformers)
  • Provide QA/QC on engineering deliverables and proposals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, field technicians, and clients.
  • Support business development efforts by preparing technical proposals, estimates, and client presentations.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) Preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in power systems engineering
  • 2+ years of team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Willingness to travel periodically to job sites (domestic)
Physical and Other Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical exam
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform fieldwork when required
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
