Job Description
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Build data ingestion pipelines from on-premises and cloud data sources.
- Develop reusable and parameterized ADF pipelines, datasets, linked services, and triggers.
- Integrate data from SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure Blob Storage, ADLS Gen2, REST APIs, and other enterprise systems.
- Perform data transformation using Mapping Data Flows, Stored Procedures, and Azure Databricks where required.
- Implement incremental data loads, CDC, and watermark-based processing.
- Optimize ETL performance and troubleshoot pipeline failures.
- Monitor, schedule, and maintain production data pipelines.
- Develop and maintain data validation and reconciliation processes.
- Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and reporting teams to understand data requirements.
- Implement logging, auditing, and error-handling mechanisms.
- Follow coding standards, version control, and DevOps deployment practices.
- Participate in code reviews and production support activities.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of ETL/Data Warehouse development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Strong experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, or SQL Managed Instance.
- Strong knowledge of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience working with Azure Blob Storage and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
- Experience integrating REST APIs, flat files, XML, JSON, and CSV data sources.
- Experience implementing incremental load strategies and CDC.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Git or Azure DevOps for source control.
- Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Azure Databricks and PySpark.
- Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Microsoft Fabric.
- Azure Functions.
- Power BI integration.
- SSIS migration to Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Azure certification is a plus.
