Summary
The IT Manager - Business Applications is responsible for leading, supporting, and optimizing enterprise business systems that enable core functions, including HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations. This role oversees a team of application professionals and partners closely with business leaders to ensure technology effectively supports job execution, workforce management, financial controls, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of business analysts/administrators
Set priorities, performance expectations, and career development plans
Foster a service-oriented, collaborative culture that supports both office and field operations
Ensure effective support coverage for critical systems such as payroll and job costing
Business Applications Oversight
Manage enterprise systems that support:
o HR & Payroll (HRIS, time & attendance, benefits administration)
o Finance & Accounting (ERP, job costing, WIP, AP/AR, financial reporting)
o Construction Operations (project management, labor tracking, procurement)
Ensure system availability across platforms
Oversee upgrades, patches, and enhancement initiatives
Stakeholder Partnership
Serve as a trusted IT partner to HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations leadership
Translate business requirements into effective application solutions
Communicate system changes, outages, and enhancements clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Vendor & Project Management
Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and consultants
Lead application-related projects such as ERP upgrades, payroll system enhancements, and new module implementations
Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve operational efficiency and scalability
Governance, Security & Compliance
Ensure applications comply with security standards, data privacy requirements, and industry regulations
Support compliance related to payroll, labor laws, and financial controls (e.g., certified payroll, audits)
Maintain documentation, access controls, and change management processes

Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience managing business applications in an enterprise environment
2+ years of people management experience
Strong experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution documentation
Strong experience with Accounting, Payroll, and HR enterprise systems (UKG preferred)
Proven ability to manage vendors and deliver application projects
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
Experience in a multi-site or field-based organization (construction, engineering, or similar environment).
Experience with construction applications (Autodesk, CMiC, Procore)
Experience supporting user adoption and change management initiatives
PMP, ITIL, or relevant application certifications a plus
