Desktop EngineerDescriptionJOB SUMMARY:A Michigan-based, full-service professional services organization is seeking a Desktop Engineer to support the management, deployment, and ongoing operation of endpoint systems and related infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology services across multiple office locations.
The Desktop Engineer will oversee
SCCM and Intune environments, manage operating systems and applications, handle imaging and software packaging, administer
Microsoft Teams (including telephony and carrier services), manage
Active Directory Group Policy, and coordinate end-user hardware procurement and lifecycle management.
This is a
100% onsite position supporting all offices. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent internal client service.
Job Details- Evolutionary role supporting a transition due to an upcoming retirement
- Full ownership of Desktop Engineer responsibilities (previously shared across teams)
- Manage and administer SCCM/MECM
- Image creation and deployments
- Application deployments and packaging
- Deployment scripting
- Windows updates and customization
- Intune is present but minimally utilized today (experience is a plus)
- Environment includes approximately 450 endpoints
- Mix of servers and workstations (primarily workstations)
- Currently running SCCM 2503
- New SCCM server build in progress
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting expectations
- Vendor coordination and hardware purchasing responsibilities
Roles & Responsibilities- Manage and administer Microsoft SCCM and Microsoft Intune, including configuration, policy creation, compliance monitoring, and ongoing platform maintenance
- Create, manage, and troubleshoot Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Develop, test, and deploy operating system images and software packages
- Administer and support Microsoft Teams, including telephony and voice integrations with carrier services
- Manage the full end-user hardware lifecycle (procurement, deployment, refresh, decommissioning)
- Coordinate with hardware and software vendors for support, warranties, and equipment delivery
- Plan, test, and deploy Microsoft OS and Office updates and upgrades
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and deployment workflows
- Resolve complex endpoint and system issues, escalating when appropriate
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal operational disruption
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation as needed

- Experience working with hardware vendors and managing endpoint lifecycle
- Experience in a professional services or law firm environment is a plus
Education- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Preferred Certifications- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
