Position: Desktop SCCM Migration Specialist Engineer
Client Location: NYC, NY
Work Location: 100% On-site from Day One
Duration: 2 months (40 hours per week)
No. Of Positions: Two (2)
Locals or Nearby resources only Must provide Three Professional References; Photo ID.
Consultant MUST provide a Client Questionnaire answered, before resume submission to client
Scope of Services:
- Client seeks Desktop Computing consultants with Enterprise Mobility experience to Migrate, Desktop computers, Laptops and Cellular phones from existing Management Platforms to new Microsoft SCCM and Workspace ONE end point management solutions to approximately 350 devices that will require the adherence to the migration process. All Client processes and procedures will be provided out of three locations around the City Hall Park area.
Tasks/Duties and Skills required:
- Specialist Engineer will work closely with the project management; service desk technician to manage communications, project scope and schedule executive the migration activities.
- Infrastructure and Service delivery directors will be escalation points and to support for this project.
Pre migration tasks consist of:
- Learn, test and fine tune the process for SCCM imaging and replacement of desktop PCs for the 3 locations.
- Learn test and fine tune the process for un-enrollment and re-enrollment of laptop devices from old MDM to new MDM.
- Learn, test and fine tune the process for ITunes Local back up of iPhones, un-enrollment and re-enrollment of cell phones from old MDM to new MDM. Restore data from local ITunes back up to ensure no data loss during migration.
- Validate and fine tune pre and post migration check lists for use during migrations.
- Pilot testing with smaller groups for initial process adjustments if needed and to establish a flow.
Production migration tasks:
- Perform production migration using pre and post check list developed in the learn test and fine tune portion of project. Including:
- Perform Assessment of end user systems, document nonstandard components and software. Documenting and preparing new equipment with this nonstandard component/software.
- Back up any data and software for the purpose of restoring to the new / re-enrolled device.
- Collaborate with IT and end users to execute the devices upgrades and replacements.
- Perform post migration checklist activities and end user follow ups to ensure successful completion/close out.
