Job Title:
New Model Program Engineer (Manufacturing)

Overview / Summary:
The New Model Program Engineer plays a critical role in the successful launch of new vehicle and powertrain models within manufacturing plants. This position is responsible for overall program management and delivery, ensuring successful execution across multiple phases including issue resolution, quality assessments, vehicle fleet management, and adherence to budgets and timelines. This is an onsite role requiring travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key gatekeeper for new model programs, ensuring adherence to established processes and standards throughout the launch lifecycle
  • Manage and oversee all activities related to pre-production build events to meet quality and efficiency objectives
  • Manage the ordering, building, testing, and disposition of pre-production vehicles, including execution of evaluation plans
  • Oversee the approval process for product development changes and ensure readiness ahead of prototype builds
  • Lead issue management processes, driving cross-functional teams toward timely resolution
  • Co-chair launch meetings and drive resolution of part support issues for pre-production build events
  • Manage budget approval processes and execute elements within the overall launch budget
  • Prepare and present weekly program assessment reports, including status updates and risk identification
  • Communicate program status, challenges, and solutions to senior management
  • Support transition and integration of launch teams into manufacturing plants

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree
  • 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project
  • 2+ years of experience in problem-solving using statistical approaches
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, design, and/or program management within vehicle or powertrain operations
  • Program management experience, including issue tracking and cross-functional coordination
  • Ability to travel as required
