Chicago White Metal Casting is looking for a CNC Automation Technician to support CNC engineering, tooling, automation, and shop floor operations. This role is ideal for someone who can operate and set up CNC equipment, assist with new automation cells, troubleshoot issues, and help improve production efficiency.

The CNC Automation Technician will work within the CNC department supporting automation, machining, fixture design, setups, documentation, and production support. q Work that directly impacts machine efficiency, operator support, and production performance. Key Responsibilities q Operate and set up CNC machining centers as needed. q Assist in the design and implementation of new automation cells.
q Maintain and troubleshoot automation cells in CNC, Machining, and Assembly areas. q Collaborate with shift supervisors to provide coverage and support for automation cells. q Review existing automation cells for opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operator support.
q Document automation job processes and support standard work practices. q Assist with machine setups and job process adjustments. q Provide support to machine operators and help resolve shop floor issues.
q Develop and maintain shop floor support materials, including job packets and machining reference manuals. Verstela | Chicago White Metal Casting | CNC Automation Technician Page 1 Requirements q Experience operating and setting up CNC machining centers is strongly preferred. q Automation, machining, tooling, fixture, or manufacturing support experience is a strong plus.
q Ability to troubleshoot equipment, automation cells, machine setups, and process issues. q Good written, verbal, math, interpersonal, and computer skills. q High school diploma or GED required; trade school or college coursework preferred.
q Ability to work in relatively warm manufacturing areas and work flexible schedules as needed. q Must understand and follow quality, environmental, PPE, and safety policies. q Must maintain a positive attitude, show respect for others, meet commitments, maintain transparency, and treat everyone equally.
