Senior MiddleWare Infrastructure Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Middleware & Infrastructure Administrator with strong expertise in IBM technologies and enterprise platform management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administration, coordination, upgrades, patching, and overall stability of critical enterprise platforms including IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM MDM Advanced Edition (AE), Kafka, Linux infrastructure, databases, and server environments.

This role requires a combination of hands-on technical administration, environment coordination, infrastructure modernization, vulnerability remediation, and cross-functional collaboration with application, database, security, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

IBM Middleware & MDM Administration

• Administer and support IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.

• Manage IBM MDM Advanced Edition (AE) platform administration, deployments, configurations, and operational support.

• Perform IBM MDM AE upgrades, fix packs, patching, and platform modernization activities.

• Troubleshoot middleware and MDM platform issues including performance, connectivity, memory, and deployment problems.

• Coordinate environment refreshes, deployments, and release activities.

Kafka Administration & Integration Support

• Support and maintain Apache Kafka infrastructure and related messaging components.

• Monitor Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, replication, and consumer/producer performance.

• Assist application teams with Kafka connectivity and troubleshooting.

Infrastructure & Platform Upgrades

• Coordinate and execute:

  • RHEL / Operating System upgrades

  • Database upgrades and migrations

  • Server upgrades and infrastructure refresh activities

  • Vulnerability remediation and security patching

  • Middleware and application platform upgrades

• Work closely with security teams to address vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.

System Administration & Operations

• Support Linux server administration activities in RHEL environments.

• Monitor system health, logs, application performance, and resource utilization.

• Coordinate incident resolution, root cause analysis, and production support activities.

• Maintain high availability and stability of enterprise platforms.

Coordination & Release Management

• Coordinate with Infrastructure, DBA, Application Development, Security, and Production Support teams.

• Participate in release planning, maintenance scheduling, and deployment coordination.

• Prepare implementation plans, rollback procedures, and operational documentation.

• Support change management and CAB activities.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have

• 8+ years of experience in Middleware and Infrastructure Administration.

• Strong experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).

• Hands-on experience with IBM MDM Advanced Edition (AE).

• Experience performing IBM MDM upgrades, fix packs, and patch installations.

• Experience with Apache Kafka administration and support.

• Strong Linux / RHEL administration experience.

• Experience with database upgrade coordination and server infrastructure upgrades.

• Experience with vulnerability remediation, patching, and security compliance activities.

• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.

• Experience working in enterprise production environments.

Preferred

• Experience with IBM BPM, IBM MQ, or related IBM middleware technologies.

• Experience with automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.

• ITIL or enterprise support process experience.
