Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Network Engineer to support and maintain enterprise-scale IBM Mainframe networking infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in z/OS networking, TCP/IP configuration, VTAM, SNA, security protocols, and mainframe connectivity technologies. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing network communications between mainframe and distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support IBM Mainframe z/OS network environments.

Configure and maintain TCP/IP stacks, VTAM, SNA, OSA Express, and Enterprise Extender.

Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and performance issues.

Implement and manage network security controls, SSL/TLS certificates, RACF integration, and encryption protocols.

Support mainframe connectivity with distributed systems, cloud environments, and external partners.

Monitor network performance and capacity planning activities.

Perform disaster recovery planning and network resiliency testing.

Work closely with infrastructure, security, storage, and application teams.

Support network migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.

Document network architecture, standards, and operational procedures.
