Cost Estimator

Cost Estimator (Senior Level) Duration: 12 Months
Location: Richland, WA
 Role Summary 
The Senior Cost Estimator is responsible for developing, reviewing, and communicating project and program cost estimates across all accuracy levels, including ROM, budgetary, and definitive estimates. This role partners closely with project management, engineering, planning, procurement, and contractors to support capital and expense projects and ensure estimating accuracy, consistency, and financial predictability.
 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee project cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and professional services
• Participate as a core project team member, attending meetings, reviewing drawings, PDC packages, and performing plant walkdowns
• Create craft labor estimates, vendor/contractor-based estimates, and monitor labor and material cost trends
• Support development and maintenance of the long-range capital and expense planning process
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records
• Present estimate basis, assumptions, and accuracy levels to project teams and management
• Support outage-related estimating activities as required

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor s degree with 10+ years of industrial estimating experience
  OR
• High School diploma/GED with 12+ years of industrial estimating experience
• Minimum 7 years of direct cost estimating experience
• Experience developing EPC estimates (ROM, budgetary, definitive)
• AACE and/or ASPE certification preferred or required based on experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Cost estimating experience in a commercial nuclear power plant
• Knowledge of nuclear plant systems, design basis, and regulatory requirements
• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• PMP or estimating-related certifications
• MS/MBA in Business, Engineering, or Construction Management

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial construction, engineering, and maintenance processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
• Project cost analysis, estimating, and reporting expertise
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and data validation skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
