Job Title: Software Engineer 4 / Data Platform Engineer (Kubernetes / OpenShift)
Location: Charlotte, NC - Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Contract Length: 12 months (strong potential to extend to 24 months; possible conversion)
Pay Rate: $69 - $74
Top Requirements:Strong experience with Kubernetes (OpenShift preferred) and Linux system engineeringExperience building enterprise platforms from the ground up, including multi-tenant environmentsStrong background in observability (Grafana, Prometheus) and automation (Terraform, Helm, GitOps)Plusses:Experience with data platform technologies (Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Hive)Experience with object storage and metadata lineage tools (Datahub)Experience with ServiceNow and enterprise operational toolingKnowledge of networking concepts (load balancing, traffic routing, segmentation, ingress/egress control)Experience with GitOps tools like Argo CDJob Summary:In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Design and build scalable private cloud data platforms using Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Configure compute, storage, networking layers, and integrate object storage and execution engines
- Support platform buildout for enterprise data center migration initiatives
- Enable onboarding and support for 70+ tenant applications in a multi-tenant environment
- Define access models, resource allocation, and environment configuration for tenants
- Design and implement observability frameworks (monitoring, alerting, dashboards)
- Develop automation solutions using Terraform, Helm, and GitOps (Argo CD preferred)
- Implement and enforce platform-level security, compliance, and governance controls
- Collaborate with networking, infrastructure, and security teams to support platform delivery
- Support performance tuning and operational optimization of the data platform
- Integrate data platform components such as Spark, Trino, and metadata tools where applicable
- Ensure platform readiness for enterprise-scale analytics workloads
