Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Equipment Engineering
Location: Onsite (Madison, WI)
Department: Manufacturing Engineering
This hands on role supports the design, testing, and implementation of manufacturing test systems and production equipment. You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, R&D, and cross functional teams to ensure new products are ready for production, while helping improve processes, tooling, and test capability.
The ideal candidate is an independent, self driven engineer who can take a problem, evaluate it from a manufacturing perspective, and develop practical, production ready solutions.
Technical Requirements
Must Have:
- SolidWorks (mechanical design) - proficient, no training provided
- LabVIEW programming experience - required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering or related field
Nice to Have:
- C++ programming
- Electronics experience (PCB handling, testing, circuit boards)
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Manufacturing & R&D to validate requirements for new products
- Design, test, and build manufacturing test equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling
- Perform hands on work to ensure products are ready for production launch
- Conduct research to identify machinery or equipment needed for new processes
- Complete verification testing and documentation prior to manufacturing release
- Work across multiple departments to resolve issues, improve processes, and support production
- Assist in engineering changes, documentation updates, BOM accuracy, and tooling development
- Use Lean, DOE, FMEA, FEA, and various engineering tools to optimize production systems
- Analyze production processes and implement improvement plans
- Use both electrical and mechanical test equipment to troubleshoot issues
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow direction
- Ability to solve limited scope problems and perform basic root cause analysis
- Understanding of standard engineering principles and practices
