Summary

We are seeking a Prototyping Engineer to join our Advanced Development Team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative, and builds solutions from the ground up. You ll work on next-generation AR/VR prototype hardware systems, integrating mechanical, electrical, software, and AI-driven workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, build, integrate, and debug multi-disciplinary prototype systems (mechanical, electrical, software).
  • Integrate and validate subsystems including optical, electrical, mechanical, and firmware components.
  • Debug hardware and firmware issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, adb, serial consoles, and log analysis.
  • Develop and maintain test fixtures, tooling, assembly processes, and debug workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert concepts into working prototype hardware.
  • Support AR display system integration, optical alignment, metrology, and testing.
  • Build AI-enabled workflows, automate processes, and integrate LLM/GenAI capabilities, AI agents, and data pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software issues through prototype bring-up and validation.

Must-Have Requirements (Important)

6+ years of hands-on experience in hardware prototyping, systems integration, or lab engineering
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
Strong experience with hardware prototyping and debugging multi-disciplinary systems
Proficiency with electrical debugging tools:

  • Multimeter
  • Oscilloscope
  • Logic Analyzer

Experience with embedded/software debugging tools:

  • adb
  • UART / Serial consoles
  • JTAG or similar interfaces
  • Log analysis

Working knowledge across mechanical + electrical + software systems, with ability to troubleshoot subsystem interfaces
Experience collaborating with hardware, firmware, and software teams

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with AR/VR systems, optical alignment, display prototyping, or metrology
  • Python, C/C++, shell scripting for automation and testing
  • PCB design review, schematic reading, soldering/rework
  • Embedded Linux or RTOS environments
  • Test/debug automation experience
  • Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, Codex, Gemini, etc.)
  • Experience building AI workflows, AI agents, or GenAI applications

Experience Required:

6+ years
