Job Description Appian Scrum Master / Business Analyst
Role Overview
The Appian Scrum Master / Business Analyst will lead Agile delivery execution, requirements engineering, stakeholder engagement, and process optimization for Appian digital workflow initiatives. This role combines Scrum facilitation expertise with strong BPM business analysis capability to ensure successful solution delivery aligned with enterprise mission objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery Leadership
- Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Monitor sprint velocity, release burndown metrics, and dependency risks across Appian development streams.
- Drive continuous improvement using Scaled Agile or hybrid federal Agile governance models.
Business Process Analysis
- Conduct business process reengineering (BPR), workflow mapping, and use-case modeling for Appian automation initiatives.
- Translate operational requirements into Appian process models, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Stakeholder Coordination and Governance
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, Appian architects, developers, and QA teams.
- Manage requirements traceability matrices, change control processes, and release readiness reviews.
Performance Metrics and Delivery Outcomes
- Maintain program KPIs such as:
- Sprint predictability 90%
- Requirements clarity index 95%
- Reduction in manual workflow steps by 40%
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 8+ years in Business Analysis / Agile leadership with 3+ years supporting Appian implementations.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP preferred.
- Experience in federal enterprise workflow modernization or case management programs highly desirable.
